Founder’s Story: The Story of Resilience, Love & Humanity
In a moment of despair, my boss from one of my last jobs told me “I used to believe in you but I don’t think I do anymore.” This made me come to an understanding to believe that greatness is not defined in the moment of victory but rather is a journey to victory.
When my boss made this statement, I decided to leave the job. He said it because I was slacking on tasks but that happened as a result of life getting depressing for me, and I just couldn’t balance things. Some people could, but I am the kind of guy who gives my all to what I do so when all of me outside work started to suffer, my productivity reduced too. I finally walked out of the job thinking, and one day; I started to Re-think.
I took a hold of my skills as they were still on-demand, so I started working as a freelancer instead.
With more time and a simply reasonable income, I realized re-thinking is beyond a mental exercise for me. It became how I saw life and people as I had always wanted to make the world a better place since I was a child. When I remembered my boss’s statement, it challenged me to take control of my life and I got the inspiration to start Retink [Media]. It was slow but Retinking made me better at my job and finally, I decided to make Retink Media my main job.
I had to start applying business and negotiation wisdom I learnt from my mother, who was a trader, I used to help her out at the shop by attending to customers and through this process, I started learning about business and this also inspired my entrepreneurial journey.
For me, Retink [Media] is a story of stories; a being that disrupts the status quo and raises the bar while keeping people at the forefront of digital media and tech solutions.
I was eager to concentrate my energy on human capital development and using media as a tool for change and putting people in the centre of it. This is part of what I wanted to fix when I started Retink [Media] with a project called WeSeparateWaste, an environmental communication project for high school students because I believe in people and I know people make things possible. Media materials are nothing without those who create and consume them.
At Retink [Media], we’re creating a culture of respect and appreciation, where the people come first, whether creators or customers. I agree that content is king but for us, we believe the creators and consumers are the kingmakers, so they should be the centre of attention at all times.
If you are that boss who gives up on people and coldly lays them off? Please, don’t bother reaching out to us. But, if you believe in those around you, and you’d like to change their lives with content while endearing yourself to your customer’s heart? We are your brilliant shot at success.
What we deliver is content that is created with the support of AI systems, yet intellectually intriguing and emotionally compelling. It is hitting your customer’s heart and logic, and making them both logically and emotionally attracted to you.
For Retink [Media] beyooond content is you. You come first before anything else.
