Brief Info & Work

The Female Freelancers Network (FFN) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering women freelancers particularly journalists, media professionals, storytellers, and creatives, through training, mentorship, networking, funding opportunities, and career development.

Since its establishment, FFN has built a vibrant community, trained hundreds of women, facilitated access to fellowships and scholarships, and continues to create opportunities that improve the economic and professional outcomes of female freelancers.

Retink Media partnered with FFN to transform its digital presence into a modern platform that communicates its impact, inspires confidence among partners and donors, and makes it easier for women to discover and participate in its programs.

How We Delivered

We began by understanding FFN’s mission, audience, and long-term growth objectives. Rather than simply building a website, we designed a digital experience that tells the organisation’s story, showcases its achievements, and creates clear pathways for engagement.

Our work included:

  • Website strategy and planning
  • Information architecture
  • Custom UI/UX design
  • Responsive website development
  • Program and impact showcase
  • News and events integration
  • Membership and community engagement pathways
  • Search engine optimisation (SEO) setup
  • Website performance and security optimisation

The result is a platform that effectively communicates FFN’s mission while providing an intuitive experience for members, partners, donors, and prospective collaborators.

Process & Results

Discovery & Strategy

We conducted discovery sessions to understand FFN’s organisational goals, audience needs, and communication challenges. This informed a content strategy centered on impact, trust, accessibility, and community growth.

Design & User Experience

The website was designed with simplicity, clarity, and accessibility in mind. Every section was carefully structured to guide visitors through the organisation’s story, programs, achievements, and opportunities to engage.

Development & Optimisation

Using modern web technologies, we built a secure, responsive, and scalable website optimised for performance and ease of content management. SEO fundamentals and performance enhancements were also implemented to improve discoverability and user experience.
